Jack most recently held a role as an Operating Principal within American Capital, a Private Equity company that has invested over $37B in over 730 portfolio companies. He had responsibility for a total of 14 different investments over the course of his tenure with the firm, including the chairmanship for two of the top five largest portfolio holdings. Jack worked side-by-side with management to build value for both the management teams and shareholders. Prior to American Capital, Jack served as President of Webster Industries, a manufacturer of store brand private label plastic food storage solutions generating $200 million in annual revenue. Prior to Webster Industries, Jack worked at Nutramax, a Massachusetts based OTC Pharmaceutical company, first in a Vice President role and later as President. Jack began his career as a Mechanical Engineer with The Union Carbide Corporation. Jack held various manufacturing leadership positions within Union Carbide, which later became known as First Brands Corporation. Those positions included Manufacturing Manager, Engineering Manager, and Plant Manager. First Brands Corporation was acquired by The Clorox Company and Jack led a seasonal business located in Ohio for Clorox. Jack later left The Clorox Company, and partnering with six former Union Carbide Executives, acquired six independent companies that were then operated under one corporate umbrella. Jack’s role was as VP of Operations, which covered a total of 14 manufacturing locations.
Jack graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. Jack has served on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Governors’ School for Science and Technology, the Board of Directors for Christmas in April, and was elected to two Boards of Education in the state of Connecticut. Jack Has also served as a Director on the Boards of nine (9) different companies in a wide variety of industries.
Jack has worked with the Christmas In April organization, Junior Achievement as well as a coach/manager with his son’s sports teams. Jack also spent many years in the volunteer EMS organizations in three different states.
He resides with his wife and three children in Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. He enjoys golfing, reading, boating, but most importantly spending time with his grand-daughters.
